A seminar on energy efficiency and safety and environmental protection technology in the metallurgical gas industry was held in Tongcheng

　　The 2025 Metallurgical Gas Professional Extreme Energy Efficiency and Safety and Environmental Protection Technology Exchange and Seminar was successfully held in Tongcheng City, Anhui Province from May 19th to 21st. The conference was jointly hosted by the Metallurgical Energy and Environment Information Center and the National Metallurgical Gas Professional Council, and co-organized by Anhui Meixiang Industrial Co., Ltd. More than 90 people from more than 30 energy, power, and gas professional departments and related units in the national metallurgical industry attended the meeting.

　　The meeting was chaired by Tang Jian, Vice Chairman of the National Metallurgical Gas Professional Council, Party Secretary and Factory Director of Liugang Power Plant.

　　Dai Jianliang, editor-in-chief of the Metallurgical Energy and Environment Information Center, delivered the opening remarks, expounding the purpose and theme of the meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to exchange and summarize the achievements and experiences of recent years in the technological achievements and management work of gas professionals in steel enterprises, promote the industry's energy conservation and environmental protection work, and promote the green and healthy development of the industry. The theme of the meeting is the discussion of extreme energy efficiency and safety and environmental protection technologies in metallurgical gas professionals.

　　Mr. Chen Guijiang, Chairman of the National Metallurgical Gas Professional Council and Chief Engineer of Rizhao Iron and Steel Company, delivered a report on the work of the national metallurgical gas profession in the past two years on behalf of the council. The report cited numerous examples and data, summarizing the extensive work and achievements of steel enterprises across the country in the past two years in four aspects: safety production management, economic operation and extreme energy efficiency, low-carbon environmental protection, and the application of new technologies and achievements. It pointed out several challenges facing gas professionals in the new era: First, the extreme energy efficiency project energy efficiency benchmark creation action puts forward higher requirements for indicators such as coal gas recovery rate and emission rate; second, the environmental performance creation A action puts forward higher goals for the sulfur and dust content of coal gas; third, as an important risk point in the steel industry, the pressure of safety control is enormous; fourth, the operating pressure of enterprises is high, and the compression of gas equipment maintenance costs has caused the risk of equipment deterioration. It is required that gas professionals do a solid job in their professional work, increase efficiency for the energy conservation and environmental protection of the steel industry, and continue to work hard for the green and healthy development of the industry.

　　Bao Junhu, Deputy Mayor of Tongcheng City Government, attended the opening ceremony of the meeting and delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the Tongcheng Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. He introduced the basic situation and long history and culture of Tongcheng City, the development of Tongcheng City in recent years, and especially introduced the important speech and instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Tongcheng Liuchixiang six months ago.

　　Xiang Limei, Executive Deputy General Manager of Anhui Meixiang Industrial Co., Ltd., delivered a speech on behalf of the co-organizing unit, introduced the general situation of Meixiang Company and its history in the manufacturing of gas storage tank equipment, and extended a warm welcome to the conference representatives.

　　Kong Qingzhe, chief engineer of China Municipal Engineering North China Design and Research General Institute, made an explanation and interpretation of the "Operation and Maintenance Standard for Rubber Membrane Sealed Gas Holders" at the meeting.

　　Wang Ding, vice chairman of the Metallurgical Gas Professional Council, former party secretary and deputy director of Baosteel Energy and Environmental Protection Department, shared his views and experience on several key technical issues in the steel industry's gas profession in his speech at the conference.

　　Yang Jing from Baosteel Engineering Technology Group Co., Ltd. published a paper titled "Research on the Technical Route for Source Governance of Ultra-low Emission in Steel Rolling and Heat Treatment Furnaces" at the meeting.

　　Wang Zhan from Shandong Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. published a paper titled "Application and Exploration of SIS System for Dry Gas Holders".

　　Gao Yanzhe from Handan Iron and Steel New Area Energy and Power Plant of Hegang Group published a paper titled "Discussion and Innovation on the Operation Mode of Double-seat Converter Gas Holders in Handan Iron and Steel New Area".

　　Anhui Meixiang Industrial Co., Ltd. released the company's promotional video and new technology for rubber membrane gas holders. Beijing Shougang International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the technology of deep desulfurization of blast furnace gas and sulfur resource utilization. Hubei Huater Purification Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the desulfurization technology of blast furnace gas. Shanghai Tongji High-tech Development Co., Ltd. shared the application of low calorific value gas ignition and co-combustion technology in the metallurgical blast furnace/converter gas flare stack.

　　In the meeting's discussion and seminar stage, representatives from Taiyuan Iron & Steel, Shandong Iron & Steel, Nanjing Iron & Steel, Baosteel, Maanshan Iron & Steel, Central South Steel, Baotou Steel, Yangchun Iron & Steel, Daye Special Steel, Liugang, Panzhihua Iron & Steel, Benxi Iron & Steel, and China Metallurgical Huatian shared the technological achievements and experiences of their units in the gas profession in the past two years, and raised some issues of concern for discussion, such as the economic benefits and safety issues brought about by the secondary utilization of coal gas, the standardization of gas safety technology, the economic benefits and advantages and disadvantages of using coal gas for power generation, hydrogen production, liquefaction, methanol production, activated carbon and other uses, and the impact of different coal gas generator sets such as subcritical, supercritical, and CCPP on the coal gas system. Deng Wanli, senior engineer of Baosteel's energy and environmental protection department, proposed ten professional assessment indicators (coal gas generation, coal gas recovery rate, high coal gas emission rate, flare stack co-combustion method, cost of purchased natural gas, comprehensive utilization rate of coal gas, emission standard rate, dust content of transferred coal gas, degree of centralized control of pressure boosting stations, and intelligent performance index) that can be used for mutual benchmarking between enterprises, and introduced the practices and achievements of Baosteel's Baoshan base in these aspects. Li Jianzhen, manager of Panzhihua Iron & Steel's energy and power division, proposed an initiative to build five gas systems (safe gas, economic gas, digital gas, low-carbon gas, and standard gas). Finally, Chairman Chen Guijiang summarized the discussions of the meeting, explaining from the perspective of the energy cost of steel products, the prospects of various coal gas calorific values and the depth of recycling and utilization, that there is great potential for coal gas recovery, which is of great significance to reducing costs and increasing efficiency for enterprises, and encouraged everyone to continue working hard for this.

　　The conference delegates visited the gas holder equipment production line of Anhui Meixiang Industrial Co., Ltd.

　　During the meeting, a renewal meeting of the Metallurgical Gas Professional Council was held. Chen Guijiang was elected as the chairman of the new council, and Tang Jian, Li Chuanjin, Li Jianzhen, Xu Huaxiang, Jiang Yanqi, Li Jianmin and other 10 comrades were elected as vice chairmen of the new council. Li Jinguo, Zhang Shican, Ma Zhiqiang, Liu Jian and other 15 comrades were elected as executive council members, and Chen Haijun was elected as secretary-general.
